ABOUT

One of the incites behind building Maram Homes is to reduce wood spent on assembling furniture, and not contribute to the increasing deforestation toll. Given how pinewood belongs to the sustainable category of wood and it grows faster, we pick our pinewood from large scale industries, treat it and repurpose it to fit our needs.

The process of debriefing our hand-picked wood involves a combination of heat treatment and fumigation. The two processes are absolutely mandatory as per international standards and they go hand in hand to eliminate the threat of pests and microorganisms.

The wood we use to make our furniture isn’t just recycled, but is also sustainable. Sustainable hardwoods are harvested from forests to maintain a natural balance of tree and plant diversity. The harvesters also take pains to reduce the impact of the harvest by maintaining a buffer of trees around waterways and reseeding areas damaged by the lumbering equipment.

A lot of popular furniture stores, the ones that leave their manufacturing to industrial machinery don’t always keep the future in mind when designing their furniture, But, we do. As a buyer, you aren’t just buying for yourself, but with every piece of Maram Homes furniture you purchase, you are contributing to an eco-friendly environment that aims to reduce the falling of trees and the carbon footprint.
